Founded in 1902 by Nicola Catena, Argentina’s Bodega Catena Zapata is known for its pioneering role in resurrecting Malbec and in discovering extreme high-altitude terroirs in the Andean foothills of Mendoza. Their Adrianna Vineyards, at almost 5,000 feet elevation, has been called the Grand Cru of South America. The family became one of the largest owners of vineyards in the Mendoza region and won several awards such as Decanter Wine of the Year, Wine Spectator Distinguished Service Award, Der Feinschmaker Award, Wine and Spirits and Wine Enthusiast Winery Awards. In 2020, Catena Zapata was named ‘World’s Most Admired Wine Brand’ by Drinks International.
